The Black Dog Story
The Wright family, including Bentley (The Black Dog), welcomes you to the Black Dog Tavern. We hope you enjoy your time here and come back again and again.
When Ted Pasko and I purchased Deer Ridge Golf Course in 2003 the “clubhouse” was a double wide trailer. In 2005 we made the decision to build a new structure to house the restaurant and banquet facility.
Ted retired in 2014 and after a year running the operation we realized the restaurant needed a separate identity from the golf course. In February of 2015 we reopened as the Black Dog Tavern.
The Tavern was originally named for T-Bone, a beloved member of our family for 12 years. You will see many pictures of him on the walls as he loved to have his picture taken.
Bentley is a very special dog that joined us in September of 2016. He was a rescue because of his special eating needs due to an affliction known as Mega Esophagus. He eats in a high chair so gravity can do the work his esophagus can’t to get the food to his stomach. Even with all his issues, he is one of the happiest dogs you will ever meet.
A friend who knew I had golf course experience but no restaurant background asked what our goal was for the restaurant. The answer is quite simple:
When people talk about the Black Dog they say “We love that place!”

Sunday – Chicken Parmesan over Spaghetti w/ garlic bread $8.99
Monday – Smothered Chicken grilled chicken breast topped with mushrooms, onions and provolone cheese and served with rice and chef’s vegetables. $8.99 ($3.00 well Long Islands)
Tuesday – Fried Chicken Salad – Crisp salad greens, grape tomatoes, egg wedges, cucumber, and Cheddar cheese topped with fried chopped chicken tenders. Toss them in buffalo sauce and add bleu cheese crumbles for $.50. $8.99 ($1.00 off all wines)
Wednesday –- Fettucine Alfredo and garlic bread. 8.99 ($4.00 Craft Pints)
Thursday –- Grilled meatloaf dinner with a baked potato and chef’s vegetables. $8.99 ($3.00 Black Dog Margarita)
Friday – Grilled Salmon w/ lemon pepper seasoning with a rice pilaf and chef’s vegetables. $14.29 ($1.00 off all wines)
Saturday – ½ Rack BBQ Ribs with a baked potato and chef’s vegetables. $13.29 ($3.00 well drinks)
